Duetti: Interactive Musical Furniture

Post Image

Daily tous les jours presents Duetti: Musical Furniture at 5Vie as part of Milan Design Week 2024. This innovative project by the multidisciplinary practice merges movement, music, and collaboration to redefine furniture design. Duetti offers an interactive experience, encouraging impromptu compositions and social engagement.

As part of the Unlimited Design Orchestra hosted by 5Vie Network, Duetti introduces two urban archetypes with an interactive twist: a rocking bench and a bollard that transforms walking into dancing. These pieces not only serve functional purposes but also serve as catalysts for creative expression and community interaction.

Duetti engages visitors through interactivity, turning simple actions like sitting or walking into musical experiences. The rocking bench responds to movement, triggering soothing music and light animations, creating a harmonious ambiance. Similarly, the bollard reacts to touch, generating voice harmonies that evolve with movement and exploration.

This project is more than just furniture; it’s an ode to the spirit of play, cooperation, and creativity. Founded by Mouna Andraos and Melissa Mongiat, Daily tous les jours pioneers an approach that combines interactive art, storytelling, and urban design to foster meaningful connections in public spaces.

Incorporating elements of the Furniture Trends movement, Duetti exemplifies the growing trend of interactive and experiential furniture design. Rather than static pieces, modern furniture is becoming dynamic, engaging users on multiple sensory levels and encouraging social interaction.

Duetti showcases how furniture can be more than just functional objects; they can be platforms for expression and connection. By blending technology with traditional forms, Daily tous les jours demonstrates the potential of furniture to enhance our daily experiences and promote social cohesion.

As visitors engage with Duetti during Milan Design Week, they not only participate in an immersive experience but also contribute to the creation of unique compositions, fostering a sense of community and shared creativity.

In a world where digital interactions often dominate, projects like Duetti remind us of the power of physical engagement and human connection. Through innovative design and interactive elements, Daily tous les jours invites us to rediscover the joy of play and collaboration in our everyday environments.

At the intersection of design, art, and technology, Duetti represents a glimpse into the future of furniture trends, where functionality meets interactivity to enrich our lives and environments.
